Scope
The Second International Workshop on Medical Image Analysis and Description for Diagnosis Systems (MIAD) aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working in medical and biomedical images processing domain. The workshop will also offer the opportunity to fill the gap between academic researchers, practitioners and industrial parts. MIAD encourages authors to submit papers to one of the main topics indicated below, describing original work, including methods, techniques, advanced prototypes, applications, diagnosis systems and tools.


Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Image representation and analysis
- Feature extraction and image description
- Image feature analysis
- Medical and biological imaging
- Image processing for biological systems
- Denoising of computer tomography images
- Medical images restoration and segmentation
- Computer aided diagnosis of medical images
- Artificial intelligence and evolutionary based image processing
- Methods in diagnosis optimization
- Medical imaging systems technology
- Classification tools for image-based diagnosis
- Content based image retrieval systems

Regular Paper Submission: October 13, 2009
Authors Notification: November 17, 2009
Final Paper Submission and Registration: November 30, 2009

Submission of Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in any of the topics listed above.
Papers should be submitted electronically via the web-based submission system at: http://www.insticc.org/Primoris


Publications
All accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and in CD-ROM support.


Registration Information
At least one author of an accepted paper must register for the workshop. If the registration fees are not received by November 30, 2009 the paper will not be published in the workshop proceedings book.
