Brief Bio
Vitor Carvalho received in 2008 his PhD in degree in industrial electronics, in the option of industrial informatics. He is currently working as associate professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), Barcelos, Portugal as well as integrated researcher of the Algoritmi Research Centre at Minho University, were it is associated the Digital Games Research Centre (IPCA). He is also the Head of the Master in Electronic s and Computer
Engineering and President of the Technical Scientific Council at the School of Technology (IPCA). His main fields of interest are related with data acquisition systems and serious games. He has published more than 100 papers, being also a member of the editorial board of several international conferences and journals.

SCOPE
Wearable HealthCare is part of the actual human daily life. Nowadays, we are able to find them practically everywhere, as integrated, among others, in our homes, body, mobile devices and vehicles, with the objective of improving our safety, comfort, performance and quality of life.
We invite investigators, academics and professionals to submit original research and review articles that will contribute to the dissemination of Wearable HealthCare in the Engineering domain.
TOPICS:
Potential topics include, but are not limited to smart healthcare applied to:
- Mobile healthcare;
- Home healthcare;
- Wearable healthcare;
- In-Car healthcare;
- Body sensor/area networks;
- “Intelligent” medical devices and systems;
- Ambient assistive living;
- Tele-healthcare.

PUBLICATIONS
After thorough reviewing by the special session program committee complemented by members of the main conference program committee, all accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM support - and submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI/ISI), INSPEC, DBLP, EI (Elsevier Engineering Village Index) and Scopus.
SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/) and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library
