Workshops
The purpose of workshops is to provide a more interactive and focused platform for presenting and discussing new and emerging ideas. The format of paper presentations may include oral presentations, poster presentations, keynote lectures and panels. Depending on the number of presentations, workshops can be scheduled for 1 day or 2 days. All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and on CD-ROM support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The proceedings are submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP, EI (Elsevier Engineering Village Index) and Scopus.

Scope
Integrated lab-on-a-chip systems on silicon technology lead to miniaturization and less expensive biodevices. Integrated sensor systems are a step ahead from the established hybrid sensor approaches. Such systems are capable of label free fast detection of biomolecules (proteins, DNA, cells)with ultra-high sensitivity. Sensitivity enhancement is achieved due to the close proximity of read-out circuits owing to the same silicon platform. This workshop focuses on such biosensors and readout techniques on silicon platform (CMOS and BiCMOS technology). Integrated microfluidic platforms for easy handling of biological suspensions will also be a part of the workshop.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Silicon based Biosensors Circuits for Biosensing Bioimaging
- Integrated Microfluidics MEMS based
- Biosensors Plasmonic
- BioSensors
- Biodevice Packaging

Scope
The International Workshop on Veterinary Biosignals and Biodevices (VBB) aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working on animal science, to present their work and to share their knowledge among others. By making it inside the Biosignals and Biodevices Conference, it will promote bridges between Veterinary, Human and Engineering sciences. The workshop will also offer the opportunity to fill the gap between academic researchers, practitioners and industrial parts.
VBB encourages authors to submit papers to one of the main topics indicated below, describing original work, including methods, techniques, advanced prototypes, recent advances in acquisition devices, applications, software applications, diagnosis systems and tools.
